About Us
Our Mission…
The mission of Our Lady of Trust (OLOT) homeschool cooperative is to assist Catholic homeschool parents in the education and formation of their children in an authentically Catholic and Classical manner. We are a collaborative venture among home-educating parents who are, by the nature of the Sacrament of Matrimony, the primary educators of their children. Parental involvement is the engine that drives our organization. Our Vision…
We desire to be a safe environment for our students to learn and grow spiritually, academically, and socially, while building friendships with like-minded Catholic Christians. We wish to honor God with our teaching, our conduct, and our values. Our vision is to provide educational options for academics and electives in a classroom setting. We pray our students will be encouraged as witnesses for the Lord so they can impact the homeschool community for His glory. Our Philosophy…
We emphasize “families,” as we are not a school but a co-op. Families come together for spiritual, educational, and social support. When members register for a class, they are augmenting the teaching of that subject with a tutor; however, parents are still 100% responsible for their child’s education and as such should ensure that all coursework is reviewed and assignments are completed.A Cooperative Defined…
A collective group of homeschoolers working together for a common purpose. All members of the co-op must contribute toward the end goal; this contribution is in the form of time, talents, and treasure. The benefits and burdens of a co-op should be shared as equitably as possible. Although our co-op has grown to the point of needing more structure and a board of directors who makes the decisions, the work should not fall disproportionately on anyone. Like a spouse, no co-op will meet all your expectations. And like a marriage, every co-op has benefits and challenges. We encourage all current and prospective members of OLOT to read the article “What to Know Before You Join a Homeschool Co-op” by Carol Topp (available by request) and commit to generous participation in our co-op.Our Lady of Trust Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit corporation recognized by the State of Nebraska. As such we are able to accept tax deductible donations.
